Today at school instead of hearing the word “atsui” (“it’s hot) constantly being repeated, it’s now “samui” (“it’s cold”). It’s about 18°C, at 8:30am, but I guess that’s where the term cold starts here. The students now where different uniforms: basically the same as before but with dark blue coats. The teachers have also started adding suit jackets to their attire. I don’t think it’s much colder than it was on friday when people were saying “atsui”, but maybe I’m just a strange Canadian.

i declared it officially fall here when i needed an extra sweater to sleep in at night…so maybe the japanese have a similar system for determining a change in season…
kinda a silly question but are/do the leaves turn colours in japan?

hahaha…fine. i did preface it with the comment that it was kinda a silly question…BUT in my defence not all leaves turn orange/yellow/red…some just go brown and die…but thanks for the clarification
